For more than 30 years we’ve manufactured under the Vermont Precision Woodworks brand and imported furniture under the Alaterre and Bolton Furniture brands. The Vermont Precision heritage dates back to 1789. Our predecessor, founded in Connecticut, operated the Vermont division as Pratt Read & Company. The Division was purchased by two native Vermonters in 1989 and renamed Vermont Precision Woodworks. The first line of furniture was introduced in 1984. Prior to this, our primary products were precision wood components for the piano and musical instrument industry. All our furniture designs, domestic or import, are handcrafted using the same precision required for the musical instrument components.
We want your experience to be the best it can be. We are committed to the best value possible in all the furniture collections we offer. Our goal is to deliver the most practical and functional furniture available, furniture that you will be proud to own.
On behalf of all our associates, thank you for allowing us to be part of your future home furnishings dreams.
Alaterre Furniture is a sister company to Bolton Furniture, owned by Vermont Precision Woodworks. Alaterre Furniture and Bolton Furniture are the import divisions of Vermont Precision Woodworks.
